Rhys Duncan
B.Vet.Biol/B.Vet.Sc (Hons)
Rhys is a graduate from Charles Sturt University, who is partner in Piper St Vet clinic. Rhys is well known for his friendly, approachable, and always willing attitude to find the time for you and your animals. Rhys is an all-rounder in areas of mixed practice, with a passion for large animal medicine, surgery, small animal orthopaedics and ultrasound.
Shahid Khalfan
BVetBiol/BVetSc (Hons)
Shahid completed his veterinary studies at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga in 2012. Originally from the little town of Harden-Murrumburrah in the south west slopes of NSW, Shahid’s veterinary career has taken him far and wide. His experience covers private practice both in Australia and the United Kingdom, the livestock pharmaceutical industry and being a lecturer at Charles Sturt University.
Shahid is passionate about using the vehicle of veterinary science to educate and impact people, helping them make the best decision for their animal or farming operation.
Shahid’s interests are in veterinary ophthalmology, general surgery and improving farm animal reproductive performance.
Angelina Nelson
BVSc (Hons)
Angelina graduated from the University of Sydney. Angelina worked full-time at Piper Street Veterinary Clinic for a number of years, and now works part time hours to fit her work around family life. Angelina is a small animal vet, and loves working with patients and clients to keep their pets healthy. Angelina has 2 Toy Poodles named "Gracie" and "Ollie". Areas of particular interest include surgery, internal medicine, and clinical pathology . Angelina likes the challenge of tricky medical cases, and has a soft spot for her poodle clients.
Rachael Long
B.Vet.Biol/B.Vet.Sc (Hons)
Rachael graduated from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and completing her studies in July 2019.
Rachael joined our Veterinary team straight after she graduated.
Rachael has two naughty Dobermans “Wesley” and “Clementine” who both work together to make sure they run the household.
Rachael has an interest is small animal medicine, canine reproduction, soft tissue surgery and working with all aspects of goats.
Sammy Moxon
B.Vet.Biol/BVSc
Sammy completed a school based traineeship with Piper Street Vet Clinic before moving to Wagga for University. She graduated from Charles Sturt University in July 2021. After working in rural mixed practice in Gloucester, Sammy returned home to the clinic with her red cattle dog , Jedda.
Sammy has a passion for both large animal reproduction and surgery; and small animal emergency critical care and surgery.
Sophie Kingston
B.Vet.Biol/B.Vet.Sc
Sophie studied Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga graduating in July 2022. She grew up in Gloucester and is enjoying being closer to her family now that she lives in Tamworth.
Outside of the clinic Sophie enjoys karaoke nights , tennis and gardening. Sophie also loves spending time with her gorgeous cat called Happy and her naughty kelpie called Winnie.
At the moment Sophie enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Science and is particularly fond of bovine medicine and surgery as well as small animal surgery.

Lucy Creer
B.Vet.Biol/BVSc
Lucy is from Murrumbateman NSW and completed her studies in Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga. Lucy joined the Piper Street Veterinary team straight after graduation in July 2022.
Lucy enjoys all areas of the Veterinary profession but her special interests are in equine and cattle medicine, surgery and reproduction, as well as small animal surgery.
In her spare time Lucy enjoys being outdoors running with her kelpie Pip and showjumping with her horse Dylan.
Mikarla Poole
B.Vet.Biol/B.Vet.Sc
Mikarla comes from a small town in south west Victoria. She studied Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University, graduating in July 2023. After spending time in Tamworth during final year Mikarla decided that it would be a great place to call home and joined the team shortly after graduation. Mikarla enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Science but has a keen interest in large animal medicine, surgery and reproduction as well as small animal emergency medicine.
